From My Shelf Books & Gifts will be one of the many business participating in the Chili Taste-Off with proceeds going to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in Tioga County. Tickets are available at the Wellsboro Chamber of Commerce before the event, and Penn Oak Realty during the event.
The event takes place February 20th from 11AM to 2PM and tickets are only $5. Remember the proceeds goes to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary. It's for the kitties and puppies. So, bring your appetite and grab a bowl.
From My Shelf Books will be serving our own special brand of Hellfire chili created by local chefs William Waltz and his grandfather William Colson. It's a white chicken chili that will burn your socks off. You must be willing to sign a waiver before consuming this spicy western style chili that will kick you in the butt today and tomorrow.
The chicken was generously donated by the owner of the New Plaza Cafe in Galeton Pennsylvania. He's a big animal lover. So, if you are ever hungry and in Galeton, check them out. Heck, go for a drive, and stop by for a bite.
Wellsboro is also holding it's second Winter Fest to hold the darkness at bay. There won't be any sacrificing of virgins, but there will be ice sculptures and more chili tasting at other places if you like that bland tomato soup with beans some people call chili.
This is all taking place February 20th. So, get out of the house and come to From My Shelf Books, get some great chili, meet our visting author, shake your fist at the heavens, and get some fresh air before the winter sucks out your soul...
