BookFest returns to the Deane Center in less than 24 hours!
The 8th annual BookFest is being held Saturday, Nov. 5th, from 9am to 3pm, in the Lobby of the Deane Center and in the Coolidge Theater as well.
BookFest is organized by teachers at the Wellsboro Area School District, headed up by Tammy Knowlton (high school librarian), and From My Shelf Books & Gifts, the local bookstore. BookFest included a huge author event, showcasing local & regional authors, and a big used book sale, whose proceeds benefit the Wellsboro school libraries.
Admission to the author event is FREE; the used book sale has a $5 admission fee for people ages 10 and older. This fee can be reduced by obtaining signatures from the visiting authors: $1 off the entry fee for each author's signature, up to $5 off the used book sale admission. All books in the used book sale are only $5 per bag!!! (Bags and signature pages provided). Remember this is a great cause, buying hundreds of new books for the local school libraries.
