Giving a Shout Out to Platinum Tech Solutions

I've been in business for myself good chunk of my working life, from starting a lemonade stand, to private practice as a massage therapist, to having a bookstore. It's seldom easy, and getting started can be the toughest, and that's one reason I like to give a shout out to younger people just getting started. This shout out is for Platinum Tech Solutions which recently opened in the Pearl Street Shops here in Wellsboro Pennsylania.

Platinum Tech Solutions specialize in computer repair and service, and they are knowledgeable at what they do. If your computer is acting up, or running a little slow, check them out. There are several good places in the area to take your computer, but Platinum Tech Solutions is conveniently located down town. One of the owners dropped by the shop yesterday, and made sure one of the problems was the processor or the software.

The Pearl Street Shops are right on Pearl Street in Wellsboro. You can access Platinum Tech from the Pearl Street entrance, right across from Harlands Restaurant, and they are right on your left when you walk in the door. I've always liked the Pearl Street Shops, but the shops don't get as much walk-in traffic as they should.

Stewart's Opticians have been in the Pearl Street Shops for several years. I no longer wear glasses, as I had laser surgery, but my wife Kasey has bought glasses there and she was happy with them. One of the cats knocked her glasses off the night stand, and they adjusted them for her without an appointment and for no additional cost.

There's been a new addition with Grubby's Games which I gave a shout out to recently here, and there are a couple of locations that will be opening up in the shops, and the rent is reasonable. Family Hairstyling was located in the Pearl St. Shops for years, but they moved to Queen St. So, their location is available, and I've heard that there is another location opening up where the Republican Office is located, just inside the door to the right from the parking lot entrance.

The costs of renting on Main Street have increased and not conducive for someone just getting started in business, and recently. The Wired Rooster will be closing due to high rent demanded by the building owner, and a lot of cool retail and smaller services are leaving Main Street. From My Shelf Books moved to East Ave in March, because the landlord refused to renew the lease. We probably couldn't have afforded his rent increase anyway.

It's a shame, because I remember growing up when Wellsboro had a fun, family friendly Main Street. Now it's mostly filled with real estate offices, banks, or lawyers offices, but that doesn't mean that there aren't great stores that are fun to visit and just a short, little jaunt from Main Street. We do our best to be aware of what's opening in the area. You can always stop in and ask us where to eat, or some of the area attractions. We are your hometown bookstore, and we shop, eat, and drink local ourselves.
